TEACHING
METHODS
Our
teaching method is based on communication, and students get
daily practice of the four basic language functions of SPEAKING,
LISTENING, READING and WRITING. Most of our textbooks have
originated from direct didactic experience, and they follow the
directions adopted by the main Universities for Foreign People
located in Siena, Perugia and Rome.
DIDACTIC
MATERIAL
The
didactic material used during lessons is original: newspaper and
magazine articles, audio and video tapes, dialogues, movies and
literature. The teachers' background allows the students
to combine practice with theory and to learn and use the grammar,
the vocabulary and the idioms in the most natural way.
TEACHERS
The
teachers of ACCADEMIA ITALIANA are all professors, who have
received their degree at Italian universities, and have
specialised in teaching Italian to foreigners.
COURSES
Our
courses are articulated into 6 MAIN LEVELS: from the ABSOLUTE
BEGINNERS COURSE to ADVANCED. On one’s arrival, each student
takes an admission test, both oral and written, in order
to be assigned to the most suitable course according to one’s
degree of language skills and learning needs. Our STANDARD
COURSE has been planned to receive 3-6 PEOPLE since in this way
the teachers are able to monitor more closely the evolution of
the class, the progress made and the difficulties met by each
student. This restriction also makes it easier for
the students to overcome the natural hesitation experienced in
speaking before others in a foreign language, since they feel at
ease as if acting in a small group of friends
