ITALIAN CUISINE
Following a brief
introduction of Italian gastronomic tradition, the course
will enable the students to prepare and savour four complete
meals, guided by an expert chef.

ITALIAN
WINE-TASTING
Theorical
lessons on the characteristics of white, red and rosè
wines, on the techniques of processing, on the art of grape
cultivation of reknouned typical wines, will be followed by
wine-tasting and the correct combination of each wine with
local gastronomic specialities.

| LYRIC OPERA |
You will listen to the
most important arias of an Opera (Tosca, Othello,
Rigoletto) together with an Italian Maestro who will
guide you in the discussion of the plot and of the spirit of
the characters. You will then analyse the Opera from a
musical and linguistic point of view, then, if you wish, you
may try to sing some arias yourself. |

KNOWLEDGE OF THE ART OF
FINE OLIVE OIL
The course forsees
theorical lessons on the characteristics of the oils of the
various regions of Italy and on the differences between the
great variety of olive oils (Rectified, Virgin,
Extra Virgin) followed by the savouring of oils with different
characteristics with the type of bread most suitable, guided
tours to an olive grove, and visit to a traditional oil mill

CERAMICS
In an artisan workshop, a
master potter will show the various techniques of pottery
making (use of the potter’s wheel, firing and decoration)
of plates, jugs and vases. Students will have the chance of
working under his attentive assistance.

TECHNIQUES OF TROMPE-L’OEIL |
A professional guilder and
restorer will reveal his secrets, enabling you to create
unique decorations in gold-leaf, faux marble and stencil. |

THE
TRADITIONAL TOMBOLO (PILLOW LACE)
The tombolo
is an antique art of working fine cotton threads
which are gathered around small wooden spindles. To create a
precious lace, a patient teacher will show you this
secret art.
